This four-week course is designed to prepare instructors to teach online classes.  Faculty will gain a clear understanding of the elements of social presence and community-based online learning, while exploring the pedagogy and technology around engaging students. The course examines best practices related to online teaching and includes an introduction to the basic standards of the Quality Matters program.  Time management techniques are also examined.

The course is offered entirely online in Brightspace, and all modules are asynchronous.  Participants will complete weekly assignments that require approximately five hours per week.

Pre-Requisite

Successful completion of FDC100 Getting Started in Brightspace is required. If you have not earned this certification, please contact Eastern’s Brightspace office at: brightspace@eastern.edu.
